Epitaph encourages undergraduate students from any college to submit research papers and essays that relate to any subject from the continent of America. As one of the recognized literary journals designed by undergraduates for undergraduates, we publish outstanding student papers from seminars, upper-level electives, independent study and thesis programs. Creative works are also welcome!

Format Requirements:

• Double-spaced in Microsoft Word .doc or .docx format
• Chicago citation style (with endnotes, not footnotes)
• Include a Works Cited section
• Any illustrations must appear within the text at appropriate points with proper licensing
• Recommended length: 800-1000 words (excluding references)
• Include a 100-150 word summary at the beginning of the manuscript

The submission must not have been previously published in any student, professional, or academic publication. If you have also submitted your piece to another publication, please inform us if you have been selected for publication by their team.

We are considering papers for the Spring 2025 edition up until May 15th.
